Producer Note:Ormer Bay wines are produced in Citrusdal, gateway to the Cederberg Mountain Range and up-and-coming wine region of the Western Cape. Here, due to the high altitude and cool mountain breezes, grapes reach optimum physiological ripeness. Hand harvesting and judicious use of modern vinification techniques ensures the resultant wines are packed with fruit and thoroughly modern in style. Wine certified Fairtrade. Ormer Bay Chenin Blanc 2005 is from the Citrusdal co-op where high altitude vineyards benefit from cooling breezes. It is full, dense and tingly with lots of body but fine, refreshing acidity too and a flavour suggests lime blossom honey. This is a serious wine. Jancis Robinson of www. jancis robinson. comTasting Note:A zesty upfront wine in true New World style. Lime, lemon and grapefruit are much in evidence on the nose. The palate is fuller and rounder with white peach, lychee and crisp green apple. Compliment your wine with handmade fair trade wine glasses. Your guests will be impressed!
