Car tyres are useful things, aren't they? The way they ensure a smooth ride, they way they protect the bottom of your car from the road, and now, the way they ensure your mouse works properly. The boffins at Remarkable have used their cleverness to take old, worn out and lost car tyres, and turn them into mouse mats. Remarkable! The Remarkable story began with the humble pencil. In 1996 Edward Douglas Miller started to look at what could be made from waste materials in the UK. He started by experimenting with plastic cups, with the aim of turning one into a pencil. . . just because it had never been done before, and to prove that you could take one everyday, throwaway item that would usually end up in landfill, and turn it into something useful, and most importantly, fun.
