When building a new house, you are required to have SAP calculations done to work out the energy efficiency of your new home.
This is done in two parts that fit in with the way you set about getting a house built.
Part 1 is done during the planning stage and your building control officer will require a SAP calculation to be done before signing off the plans. You will need scaled technical drawings of the house and detailed information on the various products being used in the construction and insulation of the house.
This phase of the SAP calculation is called the design phase. We normally have some e-mail exchanges to clarify certain points or modify specifications to meet the current building regulations.
The second phase is done when you have built the property and you send us a list of any items that have changed during the build process. It is common for items to be changed as products may not be in stock, or they are updated by the manufacturer before you come to buy and use them. If in doubt- just pop us a quick e-mail and we will check on the impact of using the revised product.
Again, Building Control require the “As builtin SAP certificate before signing off on the completion of the house.

Pricing is dependant on the size of the property- specifically the number of rooms and floors and as a guideline, we charge between 70 and 120 pounds for the design stage.
