The extension tube is designed so that it can be cut to the nearest 5cm - cutting from the bottom, so that you can raise the access cover up to or very near to ground level. It fits into the existing entrance cover hole on the tank and you then simply place the cover into the top of the extension tube.
This enables you to bury the tank further in to the ground and avoid possible frost action.
