Po-Zu means 'pause' in Japanese. Pause, and reflect:
- Our feet bear all our weight, and so deserve the ultimate rest.
- Our planet bears all our waste, and well deserves a rest too.
Po-Zu is the fruit of an obsession to create the ultimate ecological slipper: its over 99 per cent biodegradable, durable, and exceptionally comfortable.
Launched in autumn 2006 as an indoor footwear brand, Po-Zu is designed and constructed around a unique coconut-husk foot mattress that moulds to the shape of your foot.
To complement a biodegradable product Po-Zu came up with a compostable packaging that follows nature's cycles - breakdown and re-birth. The packaging reincarnates into a seed-tray by filling it with compost and planting seeds. As the plant grows, the entire trays can be placed directly in the earth where they eventually biodegrade. The plants are the rebirth. The consumer participates in the cycle that starts with packaging and ends in their garden, spade in hand. Nominated for the UK Green Awards 2006 best packaging.
